About the Cosmetology Instructors Network - Level 2 Instructor Course


The goal of Level 2 is to help prepare Cosmetology educators to advance to management and leadership positions.


The Level 2 course is representative of the Cosmetology Instructors Network National Guidelines for Cosmetology Educators. This course will provide educators and leaders with the tools and information needed to advance their knowledge. Level 2 represents the next step to becoming an educational leader. The fundamentals of Level 2 are built on Level 1 The recommended pathway is to complete Level 1 first before taking Level 2. This online course offers TBD approved CEUs. Please note that this course is instructed in English only. 


Topics covered include Mentoring, Student-Centered Learning, Lesson Planning, Program Evaluation, Social Intelligence, Research, Presentation Technologies, Leadership, and Administrative Issues.


Course Objectives:


  • To provide tools and resources to educators working or interested in Cosmetology Education leadership positions and to promote their growth as a successful administrator.
  • To supply educators with current, evidence-based concepts and strategies to aid managers in leading high-performing Cosmetology education programs
  • To provide the opportunity for networking with other educators, mentoring by experienced leaders, and continuation of learning.

Pre-course reading will need to be completed before course attendance. Topics included are Presentation Technologies, Introduction to Research in the Educational Environment, Online Learning Environment, Student Centered Learning, Lesson Plans, Administrative Fundamentals.


Time Zone Advisory


Unless otherwise specified, all online courses will be held in Eastern Time in order to best accommodate participants in different time zones. Times based on standard Saturday - Sunday schedule, be sure to verify the days with your schedule.


Certificate & Continuing Education Units


Individuals who attend the entire course and pass the final practicum will receive a Certificate of Course Completion from Cosmetology Instructors Network and a total of TBD hours of CEU credit. There are 8 hours of pre-course reading from the Foundations of Education textbook, and 12 hours of in-class participation. Continuing education hours have been approved through Cosmetology Instructors Network, currently working on accredations.


Participants in the Cosmetology Instructors Network Level 2 will complete a team project and participate in other activities to evaluate their understanding of the course material. The grade received on this exam determines eligibility for Number-Approved CEU credits.


Level 2 Exam Grading


Scale  Below 70% - Fail, Re-Take Course

70 - 74% - In Class Remediation

75 - 100% - Pass, No Remediation


A score of 75% and above will be considered passing and participants will be eligible for TBD hours of Number of Approved CEU credit. Certificates will be issued by Cosmetology Instructors Network within 30 days of successful completion of the course.


Those who score between 70 - 75% will have the opportunity to complete remediation during Day 3 of the course. Upon successful completion of in-class remediation, Cosmetology Instructors Network Faculty will determine eligibility for CEU's.


Participants who score below 70% will need to re-take the course in order to receive CEU.


 


Cancellation Policy


The customer may cancel up to 3 weeks prior to the start date of the selected course to cancel the registration. If cancelation is received prior to 3 weeks, then the customer is eligible for a full refund, or money can be held for 6 months to transfer to a future course. All cancelations must be emailed to the Director of Education at education@cosmetologyinstructorsnetwork.com

If a customer cancels within the 3-week period, there will be no refund available. The customer will no longer be registered for the course and will have to pay in full to re-register for a new course.

If a customer/organization needs to modify registration with a new customer within the 3-week period, a one-time transfer fee of $75 will apply to the new student registration. If registration needs modified more than once, the customer/organization must pay in full again.

If a customer must leave at any time during the instructor course and is unable to return to fulfill the course requirements, money will not be held, and the customer must pay in full to re-register for a new course.

 

Academic Accommodations


Requests for academic accommodations must be submitted at least two weeks in advance. Any submissions within the two weeks leading up to the course are not guaranteed to be reviewed and processed by the time of the start of the course. All submissions must have the most current documentation of a disability from a medical professional.

 

Limits on course enrollment are determined based on the requirements of the course location. Cosmetology Instructors Network reserves the right to limit course enrollment for any reason in order to ensure safety and capacity requirements are observed.
